Red Flags Gallery
A working index of the manipulative patterns we screen for when reviewing readers and platforms. Individual case write-ups are added here as they are cleared for publication; until then this page lists the categories themselves, each with the guide that explains how to spot it and what to do instead.
What gets documented here
- Fear-based urgency. A reader who needs you to act tonight, or who introduces a threat that only another session can remove.
- Manufactured emergencies. Crisis framing used to justify a longer or more expensive session than you asked for.
- Billing traps. Free-minute offers that convert silently, auto-recharge settings, and per-minute meters that keep running after you have your answer.
- Guarantees and outcome-selling. Anyone promising a specific result — a reunion, a job, a diagnosis — is describing a product, not a reading.
- Question harvesting. Sessions that collect your details without giving anything back, then resell the same vagueness next week.
- Off-platform moves. Requests to pay or continue outside the platform, which removes every refund and dispute mechanism you have.
The full screening protocol — twelve specific red flags plus the cold-reading mechanism behind most of them — lives in how to spot a fake psychic. For the consumer-protection standard we hold platforms to, see how to tell if an online psychic is legitimate.
This page is deliberately narrow: we publish named examples only where the evidence is defensible, which is rarer than the market implies.
